I was taught by Pipe Major A.H.R. Davidson MBE, former Pipe major of the 2nd Battalion Scots Guard’s and played under his leadership in the Central Region Schools Pipe Band, competing in the Juvenile grade and eventually became the Pipe Sergeant in my last few years with the band.
I also enjoyed competing in solo piping contests as a teenager, enjoying some success.
Over the last 20 years I’ve competed with a number of Pipe Bands including Wallacestone and District (Grade 2), Denny and Dunipace (Grade 2), Boghall and Bathgate (Grade 2), Boghall and Bathgate Caledonia (Grade 1), Lothian and Borders Police Pipe Band (Grade 1) and Torphichen and Bathgate Pipe Band (Grade 1).
